Averton is immediately seeking an experienced Service Coordinator with exceptional organizational and communication skills to join our Service/Warranty team in Vaughan, Ontario. A minimum of three (3) years of solid experience in residential new home customer service is preferred. We are only seeking candidates who can demonstrate an ability to organize and problem solve.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of residential new home construction customer service experience a must
  • Knowledge and understanding of Tarion New Home Warranty rules
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in business administration, commerce or other related field.
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Strong professional demeanor with capacity for building and maintaining harmonious internal and external working relationships
  • Strong work ethic with an attention to detail and follow up.
  • Excellent customer service skills to deal with home owners and trades.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and still be able to contribute to as a team member to larger initiatives

Duties:

  • Assist in the implementation of Averton’s Customer Experience process, through all facets of the customer purchase, build and warranty process
  • Organize all home owner deficiency and warranty requests
  • Process emergency requests as needed
  • Liase with customers on a regular basis, providing updates
  • Proper follow-up with trades toward resolution of work orders/home owner warranted items
  • Responsible for the processing and maintenance of the all warranty/service file documents
  • Administering customer interaction documents
  • Issue Service and Work Orders
  • Monitor and entering information in to the warranty database
  • Compile monthly reports as required
  • Attend Service and Warranty meetings
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Averton Homes is immediately seeking a full-time, permanent, NCSO – Safety Officer. Reporting to the General Manager, the Safety Officer is responsible for the required roles detailed in the job description.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a safety policy handbook and site-specific policies that are required by OHS Alberta & ensure that it meets the requirements of COR.
  • Detailed documentation of on-site observations, incidents, as well as identified opportunities for improvement of the Averton Safety Program.
  • Ensure that provincial and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed.
  • Plan, develop and implement safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs.
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Provide advice, and implement changes as per OHS Alberta act, regulation, or code.
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report incidents.
  • Review property and injury reports.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of workers compensation program.
  • Research, prioritize, safety supplies, products or training items required.
  • Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements.
  • Help develop controls for identified hazards, and coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries.
  • Investigate incidents and report findings to management. Identify and execute corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Prime Contractor Program.
  • Detailed reporting, system and procedure implementation, administration of the Averton Safety Program.
  • Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
  • Updating JHA and SWP to be current and applicable to the work that is being done.
  • Trade partner engagement at the field level and correspondence with trade partners for Safety compliance.
  • Coordinate the monthly office safety meetings and training.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure that Safe Work Practices are being done on every Averton location and provide guidance and training in regard to safety on site.

Qualifications:

  • NCSO designation.
  • 3 years plus field experience as safety/construction officer in construction industry. Experience in residential construction is an asset.
  • Excellent computer, written and verbal skills.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Proactive problem-solver that can manage difficult situations with positive results.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current and provincial legislation.
  • Safety knowledge in Fall Protection, Fire Protection and WHMIS.
  • Experience with COR, WCB and OHS requirements.
